Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply when you create an account on, or use, The Globals at https://theglobals.co and in The Globals mobile apps (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by Macenta Eğitim Yayınları Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi ("Macenta", "we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who can use The Globals
- Teachers and school staff may create their own account. You must be at least 18 years old and use the Service in your professional role.
- Students aged 11–18 use the Service through accounts created and supervised by their school or teacher, with parental involvement where local law requires it. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13 outside these school-supervised accounts.
- Parents and guardians may link to their child's account to follow their progress.
- If you use the Service on behalf of a school, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms for it. A separate agreement with your school, including our Data Processing Agreement, applies where one is in place, and takes priority over these Terms if they conflict.
2. Your account
- Give accurate details when you sign up and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password private. Each account is for one person only; do not share it.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing to destek@macenta.com.tr.
3. Free trials
Accounts you create yourself may come with a free trial. The length of the trial is shown when you sign up and in your account.
- No payment details are needed for a trial, and you will not be charged when it ends.
- When the trial ends, access to the learning areas stops until your school or you arrange a plan with us. Your account and work are kept in line with our Privacy Policy.
- We may change or end trial offers in future; this does not affect a trial that has already started.
4. Using the Service properly
When you use The Globals, you agree not to:
- break the law, or upload anything unlawful, harmful, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- bully, harass or share another person's personal information without permission;
- copy, sell or redistribute our content outside the classroom use these Terms allow;
- try to get around security, access accounts or data that are not yours, or disrupt the Service, including by scraping, automated access or reverse engineering, except where the law allows it;
- use the Service to build a competing product.
5. Our content and your content
Our content. The units, readings, videos, images, games and other materials in The Globals belong to Macenta or our licensors. While you have access, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for teaching and learning, including showing them to your class. You may not otherwise copy or publish them.
Your content. Writing, recordings, projects and materials that you or your students create stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run the Service for you and your school, as described in our Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the right to upload anything you add.
6. AI features
- Teachers can use AI Studio to draft classroom materials. Drafts can contain mistakes, so teachers review and edit them before assigning them, and remain responsible for what they assign.
- Students do not chat with an AI model. Where an assignment allows it, students may receive AI feedback on their writing, and are asked to say how they used AI.
- Do not enter sensitive personal information about yourself or others into AI features.
7. Privacy
How we collect and use personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, GDPR and KVKK pages.
8. Changes and availability
We keep improving The Globals, so features and content may change. We work to keep the Service available, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. We may update these Terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you about important changes before they apply.
9. Suspension and closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or puts other users or the Service at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and explain why.
10. Liability
The Service is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Istanbul have jurisdiction. This does not take away any mandatory protection you have under the law of the country where you live.
